An error was reported with the Wood Family DNS server at 10:54, on 29 August. It was discovered that many e-mail messages were entering spam folders. When I investigated this, I discovered that there were errors in both the SPF (TXT) and DMARC (TXT) records on the DNS server, which affected e-mail message deliverability. I am not sure of the cause of this; a change to the DNS configuration regarding the new hosting provider (Namecheap) may have inadvertently caused changes to these records. I apologise if this error was caused by me. I have questioned the DNS provider about potential corruption of the records; from what I have heard at this point, this is unlikely.
All mail that was supposed to be delivered in the last 48 hours was reissued, to ensure that all e-mail messages arrive at the intended destinations. A notice was attached to the reissued mail, informing the reciever of the message and providing a hyperlink to this webpage. This was effected at 20:02.
This error report will remain in existence until at least 12:00 Thursday 29 August, 2025.
